There is complex research getting completed on GLP1 effects on ghrelin and leptin receptors and what it means for the body. In a world where ‘just eat less and move more’ doesn’t work for some humans, it is great to see science putting the effort in to support the observations. There will never be a one size fits all approach to managing a human body. There may be more than one factor causing a manifestation of illness. Let’s challenge our GP’s to ensure they check for reasons why someone isn’t well. My heart breaks every time an exhausted, overweight person comes to me and says that their doc told them all their problems are due to being overweight, so just go and exercise and eat less – yet they haven’t done a full blood test, or even asked them what are they actually eating, how much sleep they get, what kind of work they do (physical or sedentary) or how much psychological stress they have in their life. I am looking forward to a better supported population due to a better understanding of how our human bodies function. Keep asking questions. … See MoreSee Less

Metamorphosis: when you commit to change, psychologically or physically – it is hard work. Certain structures or environments are necessary for changes to self to be made. It is very difficult – almost impossible to affect change without having a supportive system so the changes can occur. Watch the caterpillar transition to the next stage – chrysallis, in order to be ready for the adult stage. It is not a stage of rest. To the outside world it appears restful – but there’s so much going on physically and neurologically. 1: The caterpillar eats constantly, gathering energy to create new organs and completely change the physical structure.2: The caterpillar tethers itself to a safe place (who or where is your tether?).3: With discomfort that is shown by twitching, the caterpillar’s skin splits at the mouth, and the creature within is revealed – all the butterfly features are evident in a translucent blob. Semi formed, not pretty at all. Vulnerable.4: The chrysalis hardens and becomes (in this case) a shiny, reflective casing. Safe. Comfortable. Somewhere to protect the final stage of this transformation process. 5: The self-made haven starts to become uncomfortable. Restrictive. Boring. The butterfly breaks out of the cell it created for itself, finally. The safe place is no longer necessary – all the changes mean that the individual is no longer suited to that micro-environment. 6. Journey completed, but the mission is yet to be fulfilled. This stage is the most important – where the job this animal was evolved for, now can be attempted. As a side effect of this stage, many plants will be pollinated. Not only will the butterfly actualise its own purpose, but the entire ecosystem will benefit. #fitnessandmassagebrisbane#gethealthy… See MoreSee Less
